30 years across every part of the trade — engineering, consulting, development, analysis, management, leadership, making, breaking. From low-level code all the way up to platform, AI, and commercial strategy at Microsoft. Somewhere along the way I stopped caring how things are supposed to be built, and started focusing on how they actually behave under pressure.
The "Metaphor" side of this site is how I model my own cognition: triggers, flow, overload, recovery. Not as theory, but as a working system I can reason about.

Sometimes that looks like code. Sometimes a system. Sometimes a bus in a field with a firepit and music playing. Sometimes with headphones on and music blasting. Sometimes kissing a virtual apex and accelerating through the corner. Sometimes it's making a curry or a themed night with the family. Sometimes it's a pink-themed mystery trail across London with my wife. Life is never dull. Same underlying model.
